Hilarious Social Media Parody

Don’t miss this funny parody on Social Media from a FOX station in Dallas-Fort Worth.

It starts with breaking news about a gunman on the loose at City Hall, but every correspondent on the scene is so involved in social media technology that he or she has lost touch with what’s actually happening.

You can check out the YouTube link here.

Earn money by tweeting?

Today I found this website called Sponsored Tweets, it says that you can connect directly with advertisers to engage in sponsored conversations through Twitter… and basically you can earn some money!

Has anyone experienced Sponsored Tweets? I’d love to know more, so why not tweet us?

Addicted to Facebook Games?

I have to admit there was a time when I played games every night on Facebook… well if you are like me I have to say we’re not alone. According to an infographic by Social Times, gamers play 927 million hours of games per month.

Check the infographic here

Smell like a monster

In case you missed it, this month Sesame Street posted their parody of the Old Spice commercial called “Smell like a monster”, totally adorable!

And if you are a fan (like me) of the HBO show True Blood, I recommend you watch True mud.

Here’s an energy-saving thought for the day…

I believe we all need to be conscious and learn how to save energy. I found this video that illustrates what happens when you leave your computer on at night, it’s all supported with some statistics that are fun to watch.

So, tell me… do you leave your computer on over night?

Is Facebook sharing our personal information?

According to a Wall Street Journal article, Facebook’s most popular apps have been sharing personal information to advertising and Internet tracking companies, apparently even if you set your profile to the strictest privacy setting.

These apps made by independent software developers include Zynga Game Network Inc.'s FarmVille, Texas HoldEm Poker, FrontierVille and others.

However, in today’s Facebook Developer Blog, Mike Vernal says that Press reports have exaggerated the implications of sharing a UID.

This iPhone 4 Costs $8 Million

This iPhone 4 Costs $8 Million

Have you heard about the world’s most expensive phone with a price tag of 5 million pounds, or roughly $8 million?

It’s made by Stuart Hughes, the British jeweller known for his expensive remakes of popular gadgets.

The bezel of this iPhone 4 contains approximately 500 individual flawless diamonds that total more than 100 carats; there’s 53 additional diamonds in the back, and the main navigation button is made of platinum, holding a single cut 7.4 carat pink diamond.

That sounds pretty amazing and expensive at the same time.

At least the future owner of this phone don't need to worry about seeing someone else with the same phone, as there are only 2 phones like this.

Skype and Facebook now working together!

The beginning of a partnership between Facebook and Skype starts today, with the ability to sync your Facebook profile with your Skype account.

According to Mike Bartlett, Skype’s director of product management, this integration is “just the first stages” of their relationship. For now you can make a video call to your Facebook friends, if they are also a Skype contact…so what will be next? Let me know your thoughts.

Corona Light turns to Facebook -

Corona’s betting that most of us would love to see our face towering over New York City’s Times Square.

Starting November 8th, fans of Corona Light will have a chance to see their photo on a 40-foot-tall billboard. All they have to do is “like” Corona Light’s Facebook page and upload their photo.

So far, 600 people have done so in the few days since the campaign launched. It seems like a clever campaign - Corona collects a lot of Facebook ‘likes’, which can be handy for future marketing campaigns.

Impact of media value – Apple vs. Google (and other brands) –

With Internet and social media, millions of people are talking about brands through multiple channels like Blogs, Twitter, Facebook etc. Additional buzz can be created by a single consumer‘s product experience, and many other triggers, even scandals and sometimes these exposures count more than traditional advertising.

Marketers wonder: How much would it cost to attract the same media exposure through traditional advertising?

The Answers are here: The General Sentiment Media Value Report calculates the dollar value of the buzz, content and conversation online. So what brand do you think gets the most value and impact?

According to the Media Value report by General Sentiment, Apple is ahead of Google with $1,489,568 – it seems that Apple continued to dominate with tons of attention on the iPhone 4’s antenna, Ping and the new iPod !

A social media campaign or an unfortunate new logo?

Gap new logo

First, Gap unveiled a new logo that received tons of unpleasant reviews. Last night they updated their Facebook page asking fans to share their alternative designs for the Gap logo.

So here’s what I’m wondering – is this just a bad logo design or an intended strategy to create a whole bunch of social hype around Gap and a means to drive hundreds of fans to their Facebook page? I’ll bet it’s the latter, what do you think?

IE falls below 50% of worldwide market

Internet Explorer (IE) browser has fallen below 50% of the worldwide market

According - to StatCounter for the first time Internet Explorer (IE) browser has fallen below 50% of the worldwide market.

While IE loses its market, Firefox share has been growing over the past several years and we are witnessing speedy gains by Chrome in recent months.

I prefer to use Firefox, what about you? Do you think IE will be able to increase its market share with the latest version of the browser, Internet Explorer 9? Leave us your comment.
